News: Defrag Tool for 844/X

Media 100 have began supplying Raco software, PerfectDisk 6 Workstation version, with new shipments of 844/X.

844/X was originally supplied with Diskeeper which has worked well for many 844/X users. However with the latest release of Diskeeper 9, many users have discovered they can no longer defrag drives over 500GB. Terrabyte support for Diskeeper is now only available as part of the Server Enterprise Edition of Diskeeper 9.

After playing around with PerfectDisk, it looks like Media 100 have made the right move. Features include:

  • Single Pass defragmentation of data files
  • Single Pass defragmentation of free space
  • Ability to defragment drives with minimal free space
  • Designed for disks up to 1 terabyte and larger
